Fountains, washing sites, drinking troughs and fountain-wells are part of the extensive collection of constructions associated with water. They are valuable hydraulic heritage elements that are an historic testimony of the the social and economic life of the people who lived beside the River Vero.

With the arrival of running water to houses, many of these constructions fell into disuse and were even forgotten. However, they have been rehabilitated reviving their original aspect and memories of earlier times.

Among the fountains, the most monumental ones stand out, such as the profusely decorated fountain of San Francisco in Barbastro (16th century) or the fountain of Monchirigüel in Alquézar. Others have a typology typical of a fountain well (Adahuesca and Fuendiós in Lecina) or are associated with a washing place as in Buera or the two fountains of Betorz.

There are more modest but charming fountains such as the Castellazo cistern-lavadero or the fountains of Arcusa, Morcat and the one in Pueyo de Morcat, next to the village.
