In the vicinity of Huerta de Vero, Pozán de Vero and Castillazuelo, the river is marked by extensive riparian forests.
Black poplars, poplars, ash trees and weeping willows dominate the terrain. Many other species of shrubs and herbaceous plants grow on the side of the river, taking advantage of the humidity and fertility provided by the river. These riparian forests, where a large number of fauna species inhabit, are essential for the control of flooding and the preservation of the banks from erosion.
Thanks to routes such as Ras Vals, between the localities of Pozán de Vero and Castillazuelo, we can penetrate these riparian forest, which are full of life, true oasis of humidity and lush vegetation, surrounded by vineyards, almond trees, grain fields and oak forests.
